Pregnancy Worries!

I dont know what it is this time around but I find myself a lot more worried about EVERYTHING! I keep forgetting im pregnant and I dont think I completely believe that there actually will be a baby at 40 weeks!
With both Lexi and Logan I didnt really worry about much I did worry more with Logan than I did with Lexi but this time I am terrible!

I kept this pregnancy a secret from family until I was 13+3 as I was convinced Id lose the baby (with Logan every one knew the day I knew). I am currently 18+3 and all I have bought is a pram... now that might sound like a big purchase but it was £30 on ebay and I only got it because I knew Emma was looking for a cheap single pram to put the twins in for a while rather than put them straight into their side by side stroller so really it was more for her than me!
With both Lexi and Logan I had everything by 18weeks apart from outfit in pink/ blue that I got after the scan!

I dont feel the baby move much, I do feel it but can go over a day and not feel any thing which has also got me worried. I wish we could have little windows on our tummies where we can just sneek a peek when ever we want just to make sure everything is ok! The wait between the 12 week scan and the 20 week scan feels like a life time and then waiting from 20-40 is horrendous for a paranoid pregnant lady!

Im even worrying about the labour, Logans was very quick which makes me worry if it gets faster again I wont make it to the hospital and that thought completely petrifies me!

I would be really interested to know if any other mums or mums to be have felt like they had more worries after they already have children and shouldnt really have much to worry about?

18 week stretch marks

I cant believe I am actually going to post it on here but here is my mummys eye view of my bump at 18 weeks, I look a lot bigger than I did at this stage with both my other babies thats for sure, and as you can see the stretch marks are already starting to come through! They start at the top of my old ones which have gone silver!
Im slightly gutted that I have them already and im dreading how bad they will be at the end :/ but hey I dont think I will really mind having a stomach that looks like a road map when I have a gorgeous little baby in my arms :)

Review & Giveaway - Organix Goodies Organic Veg & Oat Bars

Review :)

Organix have sent to us a box of snack bars to try out :)

My first impression was that the packaging was very child friendly using cartoon characters and bright colours that will easily catch childrens eyes when out shopping.

The texture of the bar is very much like flapjack, soft and oaty :)

For mums these are a brilliant snack bar to give to children as they are a non junk food snack, much better than a pack of crisps, sweetie or cake that children will usually try and persuade you to give them when they want a snack between meals.

Now most importantly what did the children think?

I didnt tell Lexi what the flavour was before she bit into it and I asked her to guess, after the 1st bite she guessed carrot correctly :) When I asked her if she liked the snack bar she replied "its yummy"
So that was one satisfied little girl.

Now for Logan - He doesnt talk well enough get much other than "ta" I cant say what he said but actions speak louder than words for him, he took a bite and then sat looking confused while he was chewing the first bite and then continued to wolf it down, I can only assume that means he enjoyed it as well!

So our quick round up on these? Funky eye catching packaging, fab snacks for mums who dont want to give their kids junk and as Lexi said "yummy"

Pregnancy Hormones

This is my 3rd baby and I have never experienced hormones in the way that I am at the moment. Everything is making me cry and its pretty horrendous and a little bit embarrassing.
Yesterday I had 3 very long episodes of crying - 1st my husband jokingly referred to me as the ball and chain, that lead to 2 hours of crying! 2nd - I realised it was too late to go to the shop to go and by myself my weekly Thursday night chocolate bar (I have one as a treat while the husband is out playing football) I didn't realise the time until the shop had closed - that was another hour of crying  and finally after he went to football my husband went out for a friends birthday and even though i would have only been able to drink lemonade I would have liked to have gone for an hour just to socialise but I didn't know about it until it was too late to get a baby sitter for an hour which resulted in me crying until 2am when he got back!

These things would never normally bother me but at the moment every thing seems 100x worse than what it is to me and sets me off! It really is a night mare!

A few people are telling me this is a sign of having a girl so we will have to wait and see! My 20 week scan is on February 9th so not too long to wait now :)

BuggyTug - Essential safety item for parents with young children

Buggytug review

I was lucky enough to recieve a buggy tug wrist strap a couple of months ago. While it isnt much to look at it has turned in to a must have product for me and I never leave the house with out it. Here is why :-)

The BuggyTug is a safety wrist strap that attatches on to your buggy by simply looping it through itself. The idea is that while you are out and about you put your hand through the wrist strap just like you would a bracelet and if for any reason the buggy starts to roll away from you then you have the added security. Im sure most of us have seen disaster news before such as last year where a pram rolled away from a guardian at the train station and went onto the tracks just as a train aproached (miraculasly and thankfully the baby survived). It is these sort of incidents while very rare that are every parents worst nightmare, but with the BuggyTug the worry of this happening is truely a thing of the past!
The BuggyTug is made from a soft, thick and flexable neoprene material which is even comfortable on chubby wrists. It is very strong, I have tested letting go of the buggy on my street (which is like a small hill) with it on with my very chunky almost 2 year old in and it has easy with held that weight and not caused any discomfort on the wrist.
It is quite easy to forget you have it on and I have been asked on a couple of occasions what it is by confused looking parents.
While it is something we all hope we never actually need for the bargain cost of £3.99+p&p it is a fantastic safety essential that may well save the life of baby.

Nursery and early years learning

We have decided that for now we really cant afford to send Logan our 2 year old to nursery for last term he only went 2 afternoons a week for 2 and a half hours and it was costing us around £80 every 6 weeks! It might not seem a lot for some but certainly is if you live on  a budget and as a pregnant stay at home mum I'm not bringing in anything extra to add to our family income.  At the moment he doesnt really seem to be gaining anything from being at nursery.
So until he turns 3 and is entitled to 15 hours free we have decided to take advantage of playgroups instead. A lot of them are free and as I can stay with him he will get the 1 to 1 help around other children that I feel he really still needs.
His speech is still limited and all of the speech therapy sessions we have come across clash with his nursery sessions so we will also be able to attend those with out still having to pay for nursery when he has to miss his session there!
I wont lie I am taking it as a positive for myself as well, I hated sending him to nursery knowing that people wouldnt understand what he wants due to his lack of speech, me and logan have a very close bond and I know exactly what he wants from a simple facial expression.
I do keep wondering if its the right thing to do but Lexi didnt start nursery until she was 3, 1 year before she started school and she settled much better than Logan did into nursery and loved it from day 1.

New Year, New Blog, New Start

In 2011 my blog got a little depressing due to things that happened in my life and I dont like really checking in on it so... time to start from scratch but this time my lovely sister is going to join in and make it a joint venture :)
So about us!
My name is Nikki, I am married to David and have 2 lovely children, Lexi who is 4 and Logan who is 2 and baby number 3 is due on June 28th :)
My sister is Emma :) She is currently in hospital but dont be too worried :) On January 3rd she gave birth to beautiful twin girls Anya and Liara weighing 4lb 4oz and 4lb 9oz. They are currently on the special unit but are doing brilliantly and are only really there because they are so tiny :)

Here is a photo of my 3 little beauties and a picture of Emma and the gorgeous girls :)

We will be using the blog to share the milestones of or growing family and to do some lovely reviews for some lovely companies :)

Look forward to blogging and chatting soon :)
