Funky Giraffe bibs & more review (part 2)

Back in May I blogged about some fab products we received from funky giraffe bibs!

Now little man is here and big enough to fit in them its time for part 2!

Lets start  with the bodysuits! We received the sky rocket vest!

Here is my little poser showing it off

The material is high quality and very soft and you may remember me saying in the part 1 review how good the quality of the print is!

I love the designs because they are not the standard slightly boring things you tend to find in high street shops.

I like things that stand out and these sure do :)

The vests cost £8 and while this is higher than the average baby vest I do believe they are well worth the extra pennies due to the high quality and the uniqueness of them :)

Next is the hats :)

Its still pretty big on Dexter but as you can see it is very cute!

I like the unusual style and it reminds me of a little elf.

The hats are £4 and come in a variety of colour combos. Again the hats are very good quality and very soft :)

I Particularly like the pink and green one but not so sure my little man would agree with that .

Bibs :)

The bibs are funky little things that come in so many fantastic designs!

As shown in part one of the review they are backed with fleecy material and attach using poppers.

So far they have passed the absorb test of do they keep clothes clean and dry as it has caught all of Dexters milk and keeps his clothes dry!

The real test will be when we start to wean him!

The bibs are £4 if you buy them individually but funky giraffe have a fantastic discount scheme where the more you buy the cheaper they get! For example if you buy 5 they cost £11 working out at £2.20 each or 10 would be £20.50 working out at £2.05 each!

I believe they are well worth the money! They look awesome on looking more like a clothing accessory than a bib and do exactly what they are supposed to. I plan on buying at least 5 closer to xmas when we will be starting to consider weaning :)

All in all I am loving funky giraffe bibs products and I think Dexter does too :)

Ok I have had quite a while off from blogging (just over 2 months) The end of my pregnancy was so tiring and I had so many appointments and hospital visits I didn't have much time for anything else lol!

For those who dont know I had my baby boy on July 2nd - 4 days late weighing 7lbs 15oz. We have called him Dexter Eli :)

Here is a few photos of our precious little bundle :)

Beauty and the Bib Review

We were kindly sent this beautiful bib and bloomers set from Beauty & the bib.

My first impression was that the bib was a good size to keep dribbles off clothing, is a bright and funky design and the bloomers are the perfect match for it ( I particularly like the little green green ribbon bow on the bloomers which is very cute.

We tried them out with little Liara :)

The set came beautifully presented in a matching Organza bag (although if you buy from them it comes in a fab gift box)

As you can see the bib covers every way dribble could get down onto her clothes and it looks very cute on!

We found that the bib soaked up all the milk and dribble Liara was able to spill and dribble down with ease and would have been able to handle a lot more as well

The bib washes beautifully and comes out looking new with every wash!

This particular set costs £20 on the website   while this may seem a touch expensive it would make a fantastic gift for a christening or baby shower and really does look fantastic! Bibs can be bought seperatly at £8 each. All in all I would say that these bibs are fantastic quality and look stunning on. I personally would probably only buy them as special gifts due to the price tag but I would say if you have the money go for it as they are worth it!
Beauty and the bib have a very large range of products which isnt limited to just bibs, I personally LOVE these cute pirate slippers (£6) There is also the option on their website at the moment to sign up to their newsletter and get 20% off your 1st order!

34 week baby shopping

I have had a busy shopping week trying to get everything sorted as I was feeling a little bit unorganised!

On Monday I went to boots to take advantage of their 3 for 2 on baby items offer and some vouchers I had from he parenting club!

I  did it in 3 till trips because im strange like that lol

1st I got

The future mother must haves was discounted to £0 as I had a voucher to get it free when I spent £10 on avent products, the gro egg was free because of the 3 for 2 offer and I have a 20% discount code for the steriliser knocking off a further £4.80

This lot cost £54.95

I got 590 boots points with this lot as well worth £5.90 :)

Im always very careful to make sure I get the best over all price on things I want! While one item may be cheaper elsewhere it might not be on 3 for 2 or have other freebies or bonus points/ added extras with it!

Ok so the groegg might not have been an essential purchase, but ive always wanted one and decided to use the excuse of it will be free to the hubby lol :)

This freebie is going to go in my hospital bag

Next trip to the till

Mam soothers £4.75

These newborn starter kits are fantastic value for money, they come with a packet of newborn nappies, a packet of wipes and they have started to come with some cotton soft sheets. (Wipes not pictured as I pinched the wipes out of these boxes for Logans sticky fingers, and I plan on using Johnsons wipes for baby to start with). Even better, inside the box their is some discount vouchers one for £2 off new born huggies (which you can use against this box) and 1 for £1 of huggies wipes - which im keeping stocked up for next time they are on offer for £1 at boots or in a local shop.

This lot cost me a total of £7.75 as I had one of the £2 vouchers off huggies from a previous box i had bought, and the breast pads were free in the 3 for 2 offer

I also got a further 90 points on my boots card worth 90p :)

Final trip to the till

I decided to spend the boots points I had just earned from my shopping to stock up on Johnsons wipes

I managed to get 6 packs for FREE using my points :)

(I could have got 7 packs if the special box of 6 for £5 had been in but my boots never has stock of the bargain in for long - still cant complain at 6 packs for nothing :D)

Total spend in boots £62.70 :D

On to my amazon spending lol :)

1st of all I was rather excited when I found the Fisher price Precious Planet bouncer was on offer on amazon for £14.99 so snapped it up very quickly! I already had £1.40 in my gift balance from an old competition win so it only cost me £13.59 :) Bargain - I got it at just the right time as well as its now gone back up to£36.95. When it arrived I was a tad over excited and rather than being sensible and leaving it in the box to save space until baby arrives of course I set it up straight away :)

Its my favourite purchase for bump so far I love it :D
My 2nd amazon purchase is probably a little boring but a very much needed item that I had been planning on getting for a long time but never getting around to remembering to buy when I had the money. A pack of 2 crib sheets. for £8.99!

Maybe boring, but an essential purchase!

In total I spent £85.28 this week, but I think I got a lot for my money and Im very happy with that :)

Im finally starting to feel like im nearly organised enough to have this baby :)

Ok maybe not quite organised enough, here is my stash of baby items that I have no where to put right now.

I really need to sort out a better storage plan lol :D

Funky Giraffe bibs & more review (part 1)

Funky Giraffe bibs & more review!

I have decided to do this review in 2 parts, one now to show my initial impression on the products and one later on when Dexter has arrives to show him in these goodies :)

We have recieved 2 bibs a hat and a body suit to try out.

We have the following designs

The quality of all the products is fantastic, the 1st thing I noticed was how soft the back of the bibs are they are lined in a fleecey material that is lovely for baby :-)

As you can see the bibs connect at the back of the neck using poppers.

I have noticed the design print is of very good quality. I wondered when I saw these how they would wash and if the design would wear off after a few washes but the quality of it tells me that it wont come off easily. Its not the cheap tshirt transer style that you some times see on products its a very high quality print, I have tried to get a close up photo so you can see how good the quality is but im not sure how well it shows :)

The hat shape is quite different to what you see in the shops, it reminds me of elves :) and I look forward to trying it out with Dexter.

For the prices...

Initially when you look at the website and see the prices at £4 each for the bibs it could be easy to be put off, but funkygiraffe have a fantastic quantity discount that kicks in as soon as you add a 2nd bib to your basket.

Here is a copy of the current price chart as you can see they work out much better value for pennies if you buy a few £2.20 each if you buy 5 or £2.05 each if you buy 10. There is a lot of fantastic designs so it is very easy to get 10 or even more in your basket.

The hats are priced at £4 and the vests at £8.

Postage is FREE in the UK which is also pretty fab.

I can quite easily see myself becoming a little bit of a funky bib addict when Dexter arrives. I am really looking forward to trying these out with him. I do love funky designs and so far I am very impressed with the quality.

Go and take a look at all the fab designs at Funkygiraffe and see what you like :)

(part 2 of this review to follow after Dexters arrival)

Time for summer?

At long last we seem to be having some sunny days again! We had a lovely March, but a very wet and miserable April! I do hope the nice weather is here to stay for the summer now, there is only so many things we can do indoors before it gets repetitive and we have a lovely garden this year since we moved that we want to play in! Please dont let us down now mother nature! :-)

Milton Mini Portable Soother Steriliser Review

We have had the opportunity to try out this brand new product from Milton. The idea is that if your out and about and your little one throws their dummy out of their buggy like they so often do, then you don't need to have either a screaming baby with a dirty soother or have to take extra soothers with you just in case. Now for me this is a brilliant idea because Logan was always a bit of a nightmare child in shops and it was either a case of let him have a soother or go home with out any shopping, and the amount of times he would drop his soother and then be very unhappy that I wouldn't give him it back was pretty countless (and I never learned to bring a spare).

So on to the review :)
The mini steriliser has a few parts to it, the base, the lid, 2 sponges and the strap. To use the steriliser you remove the sponges and fill to the line inside with water and add a sterilising tablet (you get a pack of 10 with it to start you off). Then when that has disolved you add the 2 sponges, 1st the one with out the hole and then the other one (the hole in the 2nd one is for the teat of the soother) Then you pop in your soother leave it for 15 mins and thats it... done :-)

As you can see the mam soothers fit in lovely, you can pop the ridges of the soother in just underneath the groove in the steriliser which helps the soother stay in place nicely as well.

The strap can be used to keep your mini portable steriliser some where safe and easy to get to, I have shown it here on my pram handle but you can put it in so many other places such as the key ring clip found in most changing bags, the strap on your handbag etc.

The portable steriliser comes in 3 different colours, purple, green and blue at a price of £6.99.

It is available to buy from many shops including kiddicare

Over all I think that this is a brilliant product that could save a lot of us mummies from a lot of stress and tears when out and about. It has a fantastic modern design and comes in colours suitable for both boys and girls.

Cosatto You2 twin stroller little tweeters review by Emma

Firstly this is my first ever pram, and the biggest thing I ever bought brand new. I am soo in love this pram. I bought it from kiddicare, at an amazing price and it arrived the very next day!

I tried out a maclaren a couple weeks prior, so many people I know reccomended the maclaren and I hated it! It was dawdy and not particulary easy to push, but assumed this was just what to expect with a double buggy.
My new pram arrived and has a funky design and sturdy frame, it fits through MOST doors, also it came with all the accessories which made is suitable for my premature babies to venture out, the matching head supports and footmuffs were essential for me being able to leave the house. It is hard wearing, easy to steer and I get comments about how great it looks everywhere I go.

The pushchair is easy to fold and both seats lay down flat which is essential for newborn twins and they independantly recline so one baby can be flat and the other sat up. There is a shopping basket under each seat which have quite a lot of room in them. Each seat has a 5 point harness and the wheels are swivel ones which makes it extra easy to push! Even Nikki says that the pushchair is easier than the single she had for Logan.

Over all I love how easy my pushchair is to use, and how lovely it looks, and the girls love it too. I would highly recommend this to any one with twins or children close in age.

I would have to give this a 10/10 I couldnt imagine finding a better pushchair suitable for my newborns.

To see this and other designs of the You2 and Cosattos other funky single and double pushchairs have a look at their website

Yippy Dada - Pipple Pink baby changing bag review by Emma

Yippy Dada - Pipple Pink baby changing bag

Review by Emma and the twins :)
Yippy Dada kindly offered this changing bag for us to try out and review when the girls were first born.
The bag is in an incredibly trendy and modern design which is brilliant for the modern mum. It comes with a matching bottle holder and changing mat. As well as having the carry handle to use like a handbag it also comes with an extendable strap so you can carry it over your shoulder or put over your prams handle bars.

The bag is spacious, there is 4 pockets each big enough to fit in a bottle, a keyring clip, an internal zip up compartment and the loose area. There is more than enough room to fit in a few bottles nappies wipes and a spare change of clothes for when babies have their little incidents. Even the inside has a pretty print rather than just plain!

If I can fit every thing in for 2 babies I am sure mums of singletons will have no problems at all :)

The bag is hard wearing and has remained in lovely condition after 3 months of use so far. It is combination of faux leather and canvas and wipes clean - one negative point is that it isnt machine washable but I know a lot of us mummies would still probably put it in the wash though to get it extra clean!

I would rate the bag
10/10 for design
9/10 for space
and 7/10 for cleaning

The Yippy Dada Pipple pink baby changing bag is available to buy direct from Yippy Dada for £75

To see Yippy Dadas full range of beautiful modern bags starting from £39.99 click here

Anya & Liara are growing quick as you can see but mummy will still be using this changing bag for a long time to come. It even matches our pram - a cosatto  You2 little tweeters twin stroller :)

My Amazing Pram

I have been so fussy with pram shopping, I wanted something modern that was mummy facing when baby out grows the carry cot and I wanted it chap as Im not exactly the richest person around!

This is the beauty that I was lucky enough to get

A quinny buzz including dreemi carrycot and carseat for a bargain £80! It was 2nd hand of course at that price but it is in immaculate condition and I just love it :)

I have always been a bit of a pram addict - I have had a lot of buggies over the last 4 and a half years for the 2 babies I have had - infact I may do a post soon with lots of photos of all my past prams lol :)

Im so excited about this pram though - I just need to invest in a buggy board for Logan now and I dont have a clue which to get!

Pregnancy update! :)

I have been soooo busy these last few weeks that ive not had much of a chance for updates!

Bump is growing well.... very well infact he is measuring big and i will be having a growth scan soon

Here is a couple of recent bump pics! The 1st was at 30+1 and the 2nd at 32+4, i dread to think how much bigger I am going to be by the end......

This week I have been shopping for baby and got some of the coolest baby clothes ive ever seen for bump including some batman PJs and a superman sleepsuit! I think asda just became my fave shop for baby clothes!

Here is another pic :)  How cute!! The blanket in the middle I got from tkmax it is the softest blanket i have ever touched and it matches my robot/ space theme I seem to have for bumps things :)

The superman suit was £6 and the batman pjs £7 :)

Creating things for baby DEXTER!

There you have it thats what we are calling our baby boy....

Dexter :)

I have been busy crafting a lot recently to pass the nights and to just generally keep myself busy!

Here is a small selection of recent makes :)

A bib, a taggy blanket, a knitted hat and a knitted frog (there is also a cushion in the photo but as you may be able to see it has an L on it! Thats for Logan hehe)

I think its nice to create things for your children! Im certainly not the best at sewing or knitting but still it is nice to have unique items that you know no one else will have :)

I have also made a bumper and blankee for the baby crib!

Do you make things for your children? If so what kind of things do you make? Give me some inspiration hehe!

Coping with changes for toddlers!

I keep wondering how Logan will adjust to the new addition of the family in June and how I will manage to divide my time so that all 3 children get equal attention.

Logan is in a lot of ways very much a baby himself, his speech is still quite limited and he loves cuddling and like a lot of children just getting as much attention as possible :)
I do worry he may become jealous of the baby having mummies attention but im hoping any problems we will be able to deal with as and when the come!

Im not too worried about how Lexi will cope as she is very excited and cant wait to meet her 2nd little brother, but who knows it could be that Logan is the one who adjusts fine and Lexi could have problems!

Have your little people ever had difficulties when a new sibling has arrived? If so what did you do to make the transition easier for them?

6 Months and counting...

Wow time is flying pregnancy wise! 26 weeks now so not long until we get to meet the newest addition to the Reynolds family!

Im so happy that spring has finally arrived! Its so nice to be able to sit outside in the garden and not freeze my bottom of and the kids have so much more space to play outside at our house since we have moved so its nice to be able to just open the door and let them run around happy :)
Here is a couple recent photos of the little monkeys enjoying the spring sunshine!
